Do you feel things REALLY intensely?
Do you care about a LOT of things: in your life, in your family, in your world?
This is part of the puzzle that is anxiety. And I don’t think we talk about it nearly enough.
We talk about how anxiety makes life tough. We spend time trying to ‘stop worrying’ or ‘banish anxiety for good’ – often in vain, since trying to stop an emotion is the best way to let it take over!
But what about the parts of anxiety that are MEANINGFUL?
Let’s take a moment to acknowledge a fairly universal truth about anxiety:
It makes you care. It makes you feel. It helps you empathise.
And if you can really tap into that – the caring, feeling, empathy – you can make incredible ripples in the people, events and world around you.
If you can channel your worries, bottle them, package them, you can have a huge impact.
You can become EMPOWERED.
You can become an INFLUENCER.
You can bring about incredible change. You can get people to sit up, take notice, stir something within themselves. So they rise up and create that change with you.
I’ve seen it happen!
I’ve witnessed self-imposed boundaries being smashed. I’ve seen a vulnerability, an opening up of our deepest, darkest fears and frustrations. A coming together, united in our worldview and desire for change (within and in our world).
And that ripple has brought others into the boat.
So here we are, bobbing in our boat, caring so very much. And getting stronger in our unity.
I appreciate this post is a tad philosophical.
But I wanted to remind you that your anxiety isn’t ALL BAD.
I know it may seem that way now, that the anxiety is overpowering. It does that.
But if you do the work, seek to understand your self and your mind, speak with a therapist, anxiety coach, and support group, over time I PROMISE you can turn your anxiety into your superpower – and use it to transform yourself and your world.
Thank your mind for caring.
Thank your heart for feeling.
And when the time is right, that caring and feeling so very deeply, will bring you to something wonderful.
Welcome to the boat. 🙂
